4th Annual Migrating Forms Opens this Friday at Anthology

Purchase One of New York City’s top showcases for new film and video, the 4th annual Migrating Forms opens this Friday at Anthology Film Archives in New York. The 2012 program includes new works by more than 50 artists representing a broad spectrum of contemporary film andvideo practices, retrospective screenings, and special guest curated programs.

This year’s ighlights include the opening feature Eric Baudelaire’s The Anabasis of May, a rare 35mm revival of Fritz Lang’s penultimate films, The Tiger of Eschnapur and The Indian Tomb, and a screening and discussion of Raul Ruiz’ Shorts and Readings.

Other screenings include  Ximena Cuevas’ Marina Abramovic, From Tuesday to Friday, Harun Farocki’s Purchase Prison Images and a program of two treatises on political filmmaking: Masao Adachi & Kôji Wakamatsu’s Red Army/PFLP: Declaration of World War (71 min, Japan/Palestine, 1971) and Jean-Luc Godard and Anne-Marie Miéville’s Ici et Ailleurs Buy Buy (53 min, France/Palestine, 1976).
