Documentary organization Docs In Progress, based in downtown Silver Spring Maryland, invites you to join an evening of inspiration and insights from academy award-nominated documentary filmmakers.
Tuesday, September 29, 2015. 7-10pm. GALA Hispanic Theatre in Purchase Washington DC.
If you are in the Washington DC Metro area or want a great excuse to come down, Docs In Progress will be bringing director Marshall Curry and editor Matthew Hamachek to Washington DC for a special not-to-be-missed evening on Tuesday, September 29 Pills which combines a master class on the director/editor relationship; a screening of Order If a Tree Falls: Story of the Earth Liberation Front which won Best Documentary Editing at the Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award; and a chance to support the emerging documentary filmmakers Docs In Progress supports with its programs and services.
Docs In Progress gives individuals the tools to tell stories through documentary film to educate, inspire, and transform the way people view their world.
Creating community through documentary film
Docs In Progress creates and fosters a supportive community for documentary filmmakers. By developing, encouraging, and celebrating new and diverse voices in documentary film, we also seek to deepen the public’s experience, understanding, and appreciation for documentary as a form of art and expression. We do this by offering an array of programs aimed at aspiring and experienced documentary filmmakers and the broader community.
