Apply to Doclisboa’s Filmmaking Seminar by Oct 8!

Join this year’s Doclisboa FILMMAKING SEMINAR! Back for our 3rd year as collaborators, we’re more excited than ever to make this hybrid program a deep collective exploration of radical filmmaking and expanding languages of documentary.

The programme is designed in a collaboration between Doclisboa and UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art that highlights the recipients of the 2022 UNDO Fellowship. The goal of this gathering is to explore radical filmmaking practices and the expanding languages of documentary cinema.

From October 23rd to 26th, morning screenings will be followed by afternoon dialogues, each led by a different scholar or writer, and each engaging a discrete question of representation that is at the center of the fellow’s yearlong research. Participants will immerse themselves in these provocative inquiries, deeply considering the complex films of formally adventurous documentary artists, and will be encouraged to share their ideas, experiences, and perspectives in breakout groups, roundtable discussions, and short creative exercises.
