This season’s workshops will be open to the general public, and can take place on a weeknight or weekend between December 5 and December 21, 2014. Videorover is looking for work from artists that are interested in or open to the spirit of collaboration, and encourages proposals for workshops that consider public engagement, the space and resources of the gallery, and those which can be open for public viewing while the workshop is not in session. The workshop format is open and can include hands-on/interactive activities, lectures or discussions. They can focus on a particular video technique, or facilitate the creation of an original work.
Applicants are not required to have teaching experience, but must demonstrate confidence in the topics they would like to present. At least one workshop will be planned specifically for NURTUREart’s Education Outreach Program, so adaptations for a younger audience are encouraged. A small stipend is available for each participating artist.
Videorover requires that the artist be present in the Greater NY area for some period of time between December 5 – 21, 2014 in order to participate in this program. Only video work that has been completed within the past five years is eligible. Recent participants (Videorover 5, 6, 7, or 8 ) are not eligible to apply.
