Yet Arum Nam documented her vibrant family living room\, full of conversions: at times mundane\, humourous\, or at times grueling\, emotionally demanding. Nam doesn’t just present a family portrait with parents of their own growing political beliefs\, but also self-documented her own journey of understanding of the democracy\, women’s rights and her motifs in the world as it is. \nCome through![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_separator][vc_column_text] \nProgram \n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text css=””] \n애국소녀 K-Family Affairs by 남아름 Arum Nam\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]South Korea\, 2023\, 90min[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]Arum’s parents are part of the proud 386 generation\, which played a significant role in achieving democratization in South Korea. Eager to pass on a better world to Arum\, her father became a public servant\, and her mother\, a feminist activist. However\, at the age of 18\, she came face to face with the Sewol ferry disaster\, which left numerous victims due to the malfunctioning national system. To her dismay\, even Arum’s father was involved in managing the aftermath of the accident\, prompting her to question the democracy crafted by the previous generation. Navigating through Korean political history via her family’s journey\, Arum reflects on her generation’s role\, spanning from the 2014 Sewol ferry disaster to the impeachment\, #MeToo movement\, and the 2022 presidential election.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_column_text css=””] \nProgram Duration: 90 mins \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column offset=”vc_hidden-lg vc_hidden-md vc_hidden-sm vc_hidden-xs”][vc_empty_space height=”40px”][vc_single_image image=”147742″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text] \nWatch the conversation between Presenter1\, Presenter2 and Presenter 3 on the UnionDocs’ Membership hub. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”Watch” style=”outline-custom” outline_custom_color=”#ffffff” outline_custom_hover_background=”#adadcc” outline_custom_hover_text=”#0000cd” shape=”round” align=”center” css_animation=”bounceIn”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][vc_separator][vc_column_text] \nBios \n[/vc_column_text][vc_separator][vc_empty_space height=”30px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”163988″ img_size=”full” css=””][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=””]남아름 Arum Nam is an documentary filmmaker from South Korea whose works explore women’s rights and the intersections of family and politics.
