MoMA’s Carte Blanche: 40th Anniversary Celebration of Prominent French Film Group MK2 June 5 – 23

On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of prominent French film group MK2, MoMA has organized a Carte Blanche that will run June 5-23, with an exciting line-up of eighteen films produced by MK2, including COUP POUR COUP directed by MK2 founder Marin Karmitz. Their homage includes works from filmmakers such as Resnais, Godard, Haneke, Kiarostami, Kieslowski, Gus Van Sant, Hong Sang-soo and many others. – On June 6 at 7pm, FIAF buy diltiazem cream uk (French Institute Alliance Française) will present a Tribute to Marin Karmitz with the World Premiere of a brand new documentary about him, entitled A LIFE AT THE MOVIES. The screening will be followed by a discussion with film critic Eric Hynes.

– On June 8 at 4:30pm, UnionDocs will welcome back Marin Karmitz who last visited on the occasion of his screening of COUP POUR COUP. Karmitz will introduce NUIT NOIRE, CALCUTTA, a rare short that he directed in 1964, written by Marguerite Duras starring Maurice Garrel. Elisha Karmitz director of MK2 Agency will talk about MK2 expanded cinema projects and their reflection on the role of film theatres in the city. There will be a cocktail courtesy of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy to follow the screening.
