Registration Open for 2017 MDOCS Storytellers’ Institute Festosium at Skidmore College

Registration is now open for the 2017 MDOCS Storytellers’ Institute Festosium at Skidmore College!

June 8-11 – Join Skidmore College’s John B. Moore Documentary Studies Collaborative (MDOCS) for a free weekend Documentary Festosium. This public series of events combines festival presentations of artistic work with a symposium-style deep dive into conversation around an annual theme – Space and Place in documentary works. Join filmmakers, sound storytellers, activists, museum curators, scholars, students, and community members for film screenings, audio experiences, dialogue, star gazing, and more.

Highlights include: The Prison in 12 Landscapes and conversation with director Brett Story; Archaeoastronomer Tony Aveni from Colgate University; the data visualization work of the The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project; The Future of Sunset Park: Through the Voices of Immigrant Stories by Betty Yu; and the collaborative art/activism work of Laura Chipley and the Appalachian Mountaintop Patrol.
