Steven Montgomery
Board Advisor on Development
Steven Montgomery is a development consultant who assists nonprofit organizations in obtaining government, foundation and corporate support. He has secured major funding for many New York City nonprofits, including the New York Philharmonic, Henry Street Settlement, and Rosie’s Broadway Kids, founded by Rosie O’Donnell. During a recent year, Mr. Montgomery helped one client to obtain more than $700,000 in new foundation and government grants. In addition, he has produced and directed the documentaries “Morocco: The Past and Present of Djemma el Fna,” about Marrakech’s famous public square, and “Hobie’s Heroes – 25th Anniversary Edition,” about Olympic diving coach Hobie Billingsley. His award-winning work has been televised nationally and has been widely distributed to American universities and public libraries. He has been a guest lecturer at Dartmouth College, Loyola University, Indiana University, the United States Department of State/Foreign Service Institute, French Institute Alliance Française, and at Dar America in Casablanca. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar and the New York Film and Video Council.
