Irene Bartolomé
Collaborative Fellow 2014-2015
Irene is a filmmaker born in Barcelona, and currently based in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a Master degree in Creative Documentary from Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, and a BA in Film Editing from ECAM Film School, Madrid. She works professionally as a video editor and she has over seven years of experience in fiction, documentary, music videos and advertisement production. In 2012 Irene directed two documentary short films which have been shown in several international film festival. The last feature film she co-directed, Demonstration, premiered at IDFA Amsterdam and screened at MoMA Fortnight, HotDocs, True/False film festival, among others. In 2014 she was awarded a SGAE grant to attend the 2014-2015 Collaborative Studio Program at UnionDocs, NY. Irene is currently in post-production stage of MOKA, her last feature-length film made only with archive films of the Spanish colonization in Africa.
