Former CoLab Fellow Produces and Directs TV Series for VICELAND

Former UnionDocs CoLAB fellow Matt Yoka is a producer and director of the documentary television series delivery midamor Vice Does America Cheap , airing on Viceland. In the seven part series, Abdullah Saeed, Wilbert L. Cooper, and Martina De Alba explore the American landscape in the 21st century. In the first episode, the group meets with an Obama impersonator and visits militia leader Cliven Bundy’s ranch. Watch the first episode of Vice Does America Buy here.

Yoka is currently in production on  Pills Whirlybird, a documentary about legendary helicopter reporter, Zoey Tur. He also directed the long-form music video for Ty Segall’s “Emotional Mugger” and worked as a story producer for Purchase Huang’s World on Viceland.  Yoka’s work has also been featured at CNN, Time Magazine Online, Vice Magazine, Pitchfork TV, Spin, Harvard University’s MetaLab, and The Exploratorium Museum.  Vice Does America airs Wednesdays at 10 pm on Viceland.
