Collaborative Studio Films Rhythm is Gonna Get Ya, By Way of Canarsie and Last Stop for Lost Property will be featured in the Better Cities Film Festival this week. The Better Cities Film Festival will be available to watch virtually worldwide from October 8-11th and features over 80 films from 26 countries.
“Rhythm is Gonna Get Ya,” directed by Lindsey Phillips, is a hybrid documentary which recreates scenes that capture the lifestyle of New York subways riders and how they respond to commuting obstacles and will be presented in the “Better Transport” section of the festival. “By Way of Canarsie,” co-directed by Emily Packer and Lesley Steele, explores Canarsie’s unique relationship to the water through recreation, resiliency, and the community’s imagination for the future and will be presented in the “Water and Cities” section. “Last Stop for Lost Property,” directed by Vicente Cueto, features Sonny Drayton, lost item expert, who guides viewers with a mix of humor and poetic reflections through the process of recovering objects from the MTA’s Lost Property Unit. “Last Stop for Lost Property” will be also be presented in the “Better Transport” section.
Tickets for the Better Cities Film Festival are available for purchase between September 25 and October 11. All films will being available for viewing October 8th at 7:00am EDT and ticketholders will have seven days to view the films after beginning to watch.
