We are embracing the attitude we all know is best, though at times hard to conjure, full-on-gratitude to be back, to be making plans, to be collaborating on new programs, and bringing folks together with a return to somewhat-closer-to-ideal operations. What better way to kick things off than with a small fundraiser to keep things going.
One of the things we’ve missed the most this past year in our busy hybrid online and remote workspaces was the opportunity to come together to let loose! So while it’s still warm out, we’ve invited one of our favorite artists to bring us a fresh set from his turntables and wear a different hat in our space. Come through, support UnionDocs, and have a night of late night hanging, moving and grooving with EPHRAIM ASILI.
In addition to being one of our fav filmmakers, Ephraim has been travelling the world and collecting vinyl for nearly 20 years. He is founder and host of Botanica (vinyl healing & good vibes), upstate New York’s longest continuously running dance party, has been a regular host on WGXC (In The Cut), and done guest sets for Afropop Worldwide, WFMU, and NTS Radio. We are grateful to finally make our many years old intention come true and have him light it up UnionDocs.
We’ll have a pre-show video playlist from the archive to spark creativity and conversation and our beloved and well-tread dance floor will be open once again. Entry includes your first drink, and the bar will be open and stocked for the rest of the night.
This event is limited to 40 people and the backyard will also be open. Proof of vaccination is required for entry. Doors at 11, and we’ll be open late.
