Christen Lien Live – The Picnic Performances

With Christen Lien and Stewey Decimal

Dear Friends,

This Saturday we’re excited to host Viola performer, arts curator and all about stand-up gal Christen Lien for a special live backyard performance of work from her upcoming album, Battle Cry.  Running her viola (note: not a violin) through a looping machine and guitar effects, Christen experiments with each performance in creating original and haunting compositions.Christen Lien 1

Hear a sample of Christen’s work before the performance at her website.

Christen has a special connection to doc community as the former head programmer and executive director of the Ann Arbor Film Festival, the oldest fest dedicated to short and experimental film works.  While she focuses most of her energies now on her music and composing, she remains strongly tied to film and exhibition both through film scoring and work as a curatorial and festival consultant.

Doors will closed Saturday at 3:00 with an closeding set by DJ Stewey Decimal and Christen will begin at 4:00 in our backyard performance space (rain check for indoor gallery) so pack the picnic basket full of goodies and we’ll look forward to seeing you there.
