Plato’s Retreat

With ??, ??, Karen Sorensen, Julia Haltigan and ??

385 BC – Plato discusses the nature of love in Athens, Greece.

1977 AD – Plato’s Retreat invites people to act in the nature of love, very very physically.

In honor of the greatest thinkers and the wildest orgies, UnionDocs invites all you lovers out there to join in a night full of films, audio, music and presentations about this mysterious thing called love. Bring yourself, bring your lover(s), and bring your appetite. If the special hot cocoa and other delectable aphrodisiacs don’t satiate your hunger, the show sure will.

HIGHLIGHTS (Just a few to get you in the mood)

Plato’s Retreat, the film – Come into the world of New York City’s most famous 1970’s sex club. Find out how the “kinky types from the suburbs” got down.

Babeland, one of the city’s best sex toyshops, demonstrates the use of these most precious tools in a video.

Love Research – Karen Sorensen, dubbed “Love Research Lady” by Time Out New York, has conducted research on personal accounts of love. Who’s your love idol? What’s the most you’ve done for love? What was your first experience of love? And other intimate questions are posed to strangers on the streets of New York City. The answers are often surprising and enlightening. If you’re lucky, Karen will also conduct her research on volunteers from the UnionDocs audience.

Julia Haltigan – Upcoming vocal vixen sings to us about the nature of love and she’s left the sappyness behind.

Guys and Dolls – Some people prefer synthetic love over organic love. All we’ll say is: bring an closed mind.

RAFFLE PRIZES! You might not walk away with a significant other, but you can walk away with a fun prize! Chocolates in a tin box, a Love Twister game, a butt mug, or a gift certificate to DuMont Restaurant could be yours!
