Chill Cycle starts with an evening group bicycle ride around Brooklyn and culminates in a movie screening of “Chasing Ice,” an award-winning documentary.
Critically acclaimed Chasing Ice tells the story of acclaimed environmental photographer James Balog’s mission to document undeniable evidence of climate change and ultimately to change the tide of history. Using time-lapse cameras and with young explorers in tow, Balog puts his career and life on at risk in order to source visually compelling and convincing evidence of climate change.

Beth Heyde is the Senior Events Manager at Bike New York, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing free how-to-ride classes for kids and adults throughout New York City. She also works with the Council for Responsible Sport evaluating events for sustainability. She most recently assessed the Utica Boilermaker 15k, and previously was the lead event producer for the inaugural Runner’s World Half Marathon & Festival, which received Silver Certification from the Council last fall. Beth is passionate about health, fitness, the environment, and everything in between.
Erica Schlaikjer is a writer, editor and creative strategist, with a passion for storytelling, sustainable cities, technology, design and social change. She is the founder of Benevolent Media, a media and events company dedicated to celebrating storytelling and design for good.
