Albertina Méndez (Caracas, 1984). Assistant director. Based in Madrid, Spain. She got her bachelor´s degree in International Studies (Venezuela) with a diploma in International Politics. Two years later she studied a Master’s Degree (Spain) on Digital Filmmaking and New Media. She has developed a particular interest in Islamic Fundamentalism converging her two thesis into the analysis of their adjustment in world order after the Cold War.
Her artistic practice is centered in joining the social and anthropological sciences with the audiovisual and sensory world inviting the spectator to be part of an important reflection on human behavior.
Her work as an assistant director has involved the realization of feature films, tv series, documentaries, short films, music videos and advertising mainly in Venezuela, Spain and France.
