Andy Nappi
Event Manager
Andy Nappi is a filmmaker, photographer, animator, and researcher from New York City whose work explores gender, sexuality, reproductive rights, and the body through a queer zillennial perspective. Their practice spans film, photography, and animation, often blending personal storytelling and research to examine pain, care, and resistance. Their ongoing project Code Red reimagines menstrual and reproductive health discourse, and they release work under the name Napsack, a nod to their nickname and their ever-curious, exploratory creative practice. Their student and short films have screened at festivals including Spectacle Theater (Brooklyn, NY), Arthaus (Havana, Cuba), DOBRA (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Montevideo Cine Experimental (Uruguay), Harkat 16mm Film Festival (Mumbai, India), the New Jersey Film Festival (Newark, NJ), and the Apex Short Film & Music Video Festival (Tucson, AZ).
Andy also has over eight years of experience working with arts institutions and nonprofits. They have held roles at UnionDocs, Mono No Aware, The Flaherty, Fotografiska, The Guggenheim Museum, and The National Gallery of Art. They began at UnionDocs as a Spring Programming Intern in 2019 and now work there as Event Manager, fostering community through film and conversation.
