Joanny Causse

Born and raised in a small town in the French Alps, I now live and work in Chicago, IL. A former editor, after years of learning English, I turned to writing and directing in 2018. My narrative short Rachels Don’t Run won awards at SIFF and Fantasia and premiered on The New Yorker. In 2023, my short doc Cigales was released. Driven by visuals and a vérité approach, my work explores the human experience in the face of climate change and technological evolution, and our relationship with nature.
