Kaitlin Harlow

Kaitlin is a bilingual nonfiction filmmaker dedicated to narrative agency and decolonizing power structures in media. A recent graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, she majored in Visual Journalism and initiated dialogues in the journalism school about power dynamics + who is entitled to tell which stories. Her recent films include a collaborative documentary following the movement to remove a confederate monument and a short about criminal justice reform in New Orleans. Born in Louisiana and raised in North Carolina, she sees the South as an inspiration and a motivation for the ways media and art influence culture shifts.
