Mafe Simonsen

Mafe Simonsen is a Brooklyn-based Brazilian filmmaker whose work explores intimacy, desire, language, and the instability of memory. She was the co-editor of Dust Away (2022), which screened at IDFA, DOC NYC, Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, and the International Short Film Festival Nijmegen. She is currently the producer of Bad Girl Marcia Tucker, the first feature film about the founder of The New Museum of Contemporary Art. She has worked at Cinema Tropical and UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art and has taught as an adjunct professor in the Department of Film and Media at Hunter College.
