Yongdae Eom

Growing up in Seoul, I was drawn to literature, human rights, and questions of identity through existentialism, Confucianism, and Buddhism. After mandatory military service, I followed my own curiosity. Rather than film school, I chose to live across 5 countries and learn from life and find my own voice as a filmmaker. I approach documentary filmmaking slowly and carefully. As a beginner, I hope to understand human lives more honestly and notice the small connections that are easy to overlook.
