The 50th annual New Directors/New Films celebrates filmmakers who represent the present and anticipate the future of cinema, and whose daring work pushes the envelope in unexpected ways.
Throughout its rich, nearly half-century history, the festival has brought previously little-known talents like Spike Lee, Wong Kar-wai, Steven Spielberg, Claire Denis, Pedro Almodóvar, and more to wider audiences. Now in its 50th year with screenings held in-person and on our Virtual Cinema, IndieWire is calling this year’s festival “New York’s most exciting annual celebration of emerging filmmakers.”
We’re excited to highlight a UnionDocs Fiscally Sponsored project: Iva Radivojević’s ALEPH. In her second feature, Belgrade-born, globe-hopping artist Iva Radivojević presents a magical and unpredictable labyrinthine vision inspired by the writings of Jorge Luis Borges.
For this exceptional occasion, we would love to invite our community to save $5 on all in-theater screenings and 20% on virtual rentals in the FLC Virtual Cinema with code NEW50.
Explore the 2021 ND/NF lineup here and make sure to enter the promo code in the required field at checkout. This offer is available through May 8 via virtual cinema and May 14 for all in-person screenings at FLC.
