The Columbia Film Program joins forces with NYU’s Department of Cinema Studies for a program dedicated to screen melodrama from Thursday, February 28 to Sunday, March 3. This conference will reflect upon the implications of global melodrama for understanding transnational popular cultures, and explore the consequent need to re-conceptualize melodrama and its origins.
