Here’s YOUR chance to make radio, whether you’ve been producing for decades or have been waiting for the perfect excuse to pick up a microphone (this is it).
A beloved Third Coast tradition, the ShortDocs Challenge invites anyone and everyone to produce short audio stories that follow a set of rules. This year’s Challenge is presented in partnership with the Studs Terkel Radio Archive at the WFMT Radio Network, and invites stories – of any genre – inspired by Terkel’s fierce curiosity.

THE RULES
All submissions must:
– be 2-3 minutes in length
– be titled with a question that begins with one of the 5 “Ws” (who, what, where, when, why)
– contain the question, Cheap“And what happened then?”
– include a shout of silence or a cry of laughter
ShortDocs submissions will be accepted through April 14th.
Read more about ShortDocs, including the fine print, the “People’s ShortDoc Award,” and how to send us your story… then take a romp through our FAQ. If you still have questions, ask away. Plus, learn about the incentives we have lined up – including free SoundCloud Pro accounts for *everyone* who submits.
ShortDocs is the one time each year when the Third Coast crew puts down our curating hats and encourages the production of new work. We can’t wait to hear from you.
