In need of fresh eyes on your documentary rough cut? Apply to DCTV’s 2019 Docu Work-In-Progress Lab. Facilitated by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Bernardo Ruiz (Harvest Season, Kingdom of Shadows), DCTV will bring together 4-6 filmmakers in November and December to workshop one another’s documentary rough cuts. Participants will cut two new iterations of their work, and the lab will culminate in a showcase for closing feedback with special guest critic, Motto Pictures’ Julie Goldman. Apply by Sept. 24, 2019 at http://dctvny.org/wiplab.
Also coming up from DCTV: the Fall 2019 season of DCTV Presents, a nonfiction film screening and event series from the longstanding nonprofit in NYC’s Chinatown. The series is running weekly on Monday nights from September through November and features screenings of new documentaries like Midnight Traveler and The Hottest August, plus co-presentations with Women Make Movies and POV. Tickets and $25 Season Passes are now on sale at dctvpresents.eventbrite.com; more details at dctvny.org/dctvpresents.
