MDOCS Forum and Storytellers’ Institute Deadline Dec. 15th

Our friends over at Skidmore College are providing two unique opportunities for scholars, community organizers, students, documentarians and non-fiction artists working in all mediums. The deadline to apply for MDOCS Forum and the Storytellers’ Institute is Dec. 15.

About the Storytellers’ Institute- The annual MDOCS Storytellers’ Institute is a fully funded five-week residency hosted at Skidmore. For the month of June, the Institute welcomes professional documentary makers working in all mediums (audio, performance, photography, film, etc.) and Skidmore students, faculty and staff to work alongside each other on independent projects and engage in an annual theme. The Institute offers room and board, an honorarium, a travel stipend (visiting fellows only), and access to work space and equipment.

About Forum On June 4th -7th 2020, MDOCS will convene the annual Documentary Forum– a public event series combining presentations of artistic work, panels, workshops and conversations around the annual theme, Creation and its Discontents. The 2020 Keynote is Another Kind of Girl Collective, a media arts collective through which young women living in displaced, migrant or transitory communities around the world connect and co-create. Housing and registration scholarships are available.
