Cynthia Kueppers

Cynthia Kueppers is a Managing Director of Riverstone Holdings, LLC focused on the decarbonization growth equity platform. She joined the firm in 2021 bringing with her 20 years of experience in private equity investing, finance, and energy transition. She advised a family office, Stray Impact Investments LLC, on a climate and social justice investment strategy pursing climate solutions and financial inclusion. In addition, Cynthia built and led the venture capital and acquisitions group at A3 Ventures, where she invested and evaluated deals at the intersection of traditional industries and emerging technology including advanced mobility, electrification, and smart city infrastructure. Previously, Ms. Kueppers founded Veranda Venture Partners, a private equity firm that invested in growing companies to drive positive environmental impact and market rate financial returns. Prior to that, she was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and Barclays Capital where she advised on and executed transportation and infrastructure sector transactions across IPOs, complex debt and equity financings, and buy-side and sell-side M&A.

To date, Cynthia has focused her nonprofit activities on climate action, political engagement, and diversifying access to capital. She is seeking to broaden her perspective to incorporate the arts, believing cultural influence is a critical driver for systemic change. She is an independent member of the valuation committee for ZX Ventures, and serves as a board member for various portfolio companies, including VEMO, LatAm’s largest clean mobility company, and TREX Group, a fintech company based in NYC. In addition, Cynthia served as a policy advisor on Biden’s climate, energy and the environment policy committee in 2020, helping to draft a framework for what would eventually become the Inflation Reduction Act. She has also supported several climate related not-for-profit organizations including The Perfect Earth Project and Azuero Earth Project.

Ms. Kueppers has an MBA from the Yale School of Management, a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
