Julia Burke Ferguson
Julia Burke Ferguson practices documentary sound art. Her multi-channel format draws from literature, journalism, dreams, and performance and weaves together interview tape and field recordings. Subjects and their environment come into conversation for an immersive audio experience. Julia believes in sharing and designs these pieces to play out loud. She earned her BA from Hamilton College in Comparative Literature and MA from Northwestern University in Sound Arts and Industries. Her work has aired on North Country Public Radio, KISL Radio, Northwestern’s SAI podcast, and in multi-channel installations at Northwestern University’s Block Museum and Louis Hall.
