Laura Heberton

Laura Heberton is a producer and screenwriter of award-winning narrative features and shorts that have premiered at top festivals worldwide, including Sundance, Berlin, CPH:DOX, Karlovy Vary, Tribeca and SXSW. These include three San Francisco Film Society/Kenneth Rainin Fund-supported films, two already released (Lance Edmands’ Bluebird, Robert Machoian and Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck’s God Bless the Child) and one currently in development, Freeland, the first narrative feature by documentarians Kate Mclean and Mario Furloni. She works with many of top emerging directors aside from those already mentioned: Matthew Porterfield, Jennifer Reeder, Josephine Decker, Andrew Neel and Jonathan Lisecki. She produced, wrote and co-edited her first doc short with Machoian and Ojeda-Beck that premiered at AspenShorts 2016, “Oh My Father”. Aside from SFFS, Laura and her films have received critical support from the Sundance Institute, IFP, Rooftop Films, Cinemart, the Polish Film Society and other important film arts organizations. In addition to serving on the board of Union Docs, she is a member of the Provincetown Film Society’s Advisory Committee.
