Island of the Hungry Ghosts screening now at MOMI 3/8–3/17!

We invite you to join our friends at the Museum of the Moving Image for a screening of Island of the Hungry Ghosts , directed by Gabrielle Brady.

The hybrid documentary follows trauma counsellor Poh Lin Lee as she works with asylum seekers detained on Christmas Island. Visually ravishing and emotionally gripping, Gabrielle Brady’s debut feature mines the terrain between raw observation and collaborative performance, resulting in an utterly unique artistic exploration of a singular place. The film won Best Documentary at Tribeca Film Festival 2018 and will be screened between March 8-17 at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens.
