Heather Cassano

Heather Cassano is a documentary media artist working primarily in short and feature length film. Heather makes documentary films that examine human connections through the lens of her personal experiences. Her first feature documentary THE LIMITS OF MY WORLD (2018) won several awards and screened in film festivals internationally. Heather is currently working on her second feature documentary THE FATE OF HUMAN BEINGS, which was awarded a grant from the LEF Foundation Moving Image Fund.

Heather was awarded the Emerging Documentarian Award from her alma mater Elon University in 2019. She has participated in MASS MoCA’s Assets for Artists Program and the artist residency at Blue Mountain Center. When she’s not making films, Heather teaches at the University of Connecticut and is the Shorts Program Director for Salem Film Fest.
