Joana Craveiro

Joana Craveiro

Joana Craveiro is a Portuguese director, writer, performer, anthropologist, filmmaker and teacher. She is artistic director of Teatro do Vestido, a theatre company based in Portugal, for which she has written, directed and performed over 40 pieces in the past 20 years, since she founded the company. Her work engages with political memory, archives, oral history and ethnographic fieldwork. She directed the poetic documentary Women were there too (2021).
